The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the phD thesis entitled “Estimation and analysis of the impact of the main determinants of financial sustainability in selected countries for the period (2000-2021)”

The study … presented by the student “Mohsen Hassan Mohammed Azim” in the Department of Economics aimed at: The theoretical (philosophical) and applied (standard) aspects led to the inclusion of the minimum studies and theories related to the subject of determinants of financial sustainability in oil countries such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Algeria. These determinants are represented by financial variables that have a clear and significant impact on the financial sustainability index, including the growth of the gross domestic product, budget deficit, expenditures, revenues and public debt.

The study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which was: Proving the hypothesis that the determinants of financial sustainability have a positive (direct) impact on the financial sustainability index expressed by the ratio of public debt to gross domestic product.

The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Sabah Saber Mohammed Mawloud from the University of Salahuddin / Erbil, with the membership of Prof. Dr. Saad Mahmoud Al-Kawaz, Prof. Dr. Rafia Ibrahim Al-Hamdani, Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan, Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Fadhel Hammadi, and the membership and supervision of Prof. Dr. Hashim Mohammed Abdullah.
