An Awareness Workshop on Laws and Instructions for University Students…

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, and within the framework of implementing the National Strategic Plan for Education and Higher Education (2021-2031), the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division, in cooperation with the Legal Aids Volunteer Team and the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, organized an awareness workshop entitled “Laws and Instructions for University Students” on Monday, March 17, 2025.
The workshop, presented by the Legal Aids Team, aimed to enhance students’ awareness of Iraqi laws in criminal, civil, and international law, with a focus on cyber-extortion and drug crimes, given their serious impact on individuals and society.
The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Salam, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Omar Qusay, Head of the Qualification and Employment Division at the University Presidency, under the supervision of Lecturer Abdullah Al-Ballah, Head of the Qualification and Employment Unit at the College.
The workshop began with an introductory lecture by Professor Dr. Mohammed Siddiq, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Law. He led the team in presenting the workshop content, highlighting the legal aspects of interest to students during their university career and beyond.
At the conclusion of the workshop, a discussion was opened for students to ask questions and benefit from the legal expertise presented. This contributed to fruitful interaction that enhanced legal awareness among attendees.
