Awareness Lecture on Fasting for Pregnant Women During Ramadan

Under the direct sponsorship and guidance of Professor Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, the college organized a scientific awareness lecture entitled “Fasting for Pregnant Women During Ramadan” this morning, Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (1) of the college.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Hiba Ahmed Suhail from the College of Medicine in Mosul. She addressed the health and medical aspects related to fasting for pregnant women during the holy month of Ramadan.
Lecture Topics and Objectives:
The lecture aimed to highlight the impact of fasting on the health of the mother and fetus, and to provide a set of guidelines and instructions to ensure a healthy and safe fast. It also identified the cases in which fasting is prohibited to protect the health of the pregnant woman and her fetus.

During the lecture, the potential health risks that pregnant women may face during fasting were reviewed, along with the controls and preventive measures to ensure a safe fasting experience. The lecturer also emphasized the importance of consulting a specialist physician before deciding to fast, to ensure that the health of the mother and fetus is compatible with the requirements of fasting.
