The College of Business and Economics Council held its sixteenth session on Sunday, March 23, 2025, chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, and attended by the Dean’s Assistants for Academic and Administrative Affairs and the heads of academic departments.
The meeting began with a welcoming speech from the Dean of the College. The Council then discussed a number of important topics, most notably:
1. The Dean of the College directed the heads of academic departments to conduct a survey of students’ opinions on the academic subjects and the quality of the educational process, in a manner that contributes to identifying the obstacles they face and working to overcome them.
2. The Dean of the College directed the heads of departments to urge their instructors to adopt modern and non-traditional teaching methods for both undergraduate and graduate studies, in a manner that contributes to achieving knowledge building.
3. Program Accreditation:
The Council directed academic departments that had not yet submitted program accreditation applications to complete their files and submit their accreditation applications according to the approved standards, thus preparing them for the upcoming visit of the accreditation committees.
4. The Dean directed the heads of academic departments to video-record academic lectures and publish them on the college’s official websites.
5. The Dean emphasized the importance of following up and urging faculty and graduate students to publish their academic research in global repositories.
The Council concluded its session by discussing the most important items on the agenda and making appropriate decisions and recommendations, which will contribute to achieving the college’s goals and supporting its academic and administrative progress.
