In cooperation with the University of Mosul, the Nineveh Governorate Office organizes a training course on feasibility studies for investment projects.”

Within the framework of joint cooperation between the Nineveh Governorate Office and the University of Mosul, the Planning Assistant/Skills Development Department at the Governorate Office held a specialized training course entitled:
“Feasibility Studies for Investment Projects.”
The course aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge of the concepts, fundamentals, and standards for preparing economic feasibility studies for investment projects.
The course ran from April 13 to 20, 2025, and was held in the reading hall of the Central Library at the University of Mosul. (38) trainees from various departments in Nineveh Governorate participated in the course.
The lectures were delivered by a select group of professors from the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, including:
Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Fadhil Hammadi (Department of Economics)
Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Wahid Hassan (Department of Economics)
Assistant Lecturer Muhammad Jassim Muhammad (College Academic Affairs Unit)
The course covered several key topics, including the basics of economic feasibility studies, the concepts of expected value and present value, the assumptions related to the discount factor, and financial evaluation criteria based on and not based on time preference, with a focus on the concept of the internal rate of return.
The course also provided practical training opportunities for participants, who completed the feasibility study form for small projects issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Planning.
