Master’s Thesis in the Department of Economics Discusses “Measuring and Analyzing the Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on the Economic Performance of Selected Countries” Monday, May 12, 2025

The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, held a discussion of the master’s thesis entitled “Measuring and Analyzing the Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on the Economic Performance of Selected Countries.”

The current study, submitted by ( Mardhiya Mohammed Ibrahim) in the Department of Economics, aimed to explore the literature on investment and the factors influencing it, as well as to clarify the economic relationships between savings and investment. The study also sought to identify the quantitative relationship among the variables under research using economic measurement methods.

The study concluded with several key findings, the most important of which was that interest rates have a varying impact in the short and long term: the relationship between interest rates and investment volume is a positive correlation in the long term, whereas it is negative and significant in the short term.

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Hashim Mohammed Abdullah, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Faud Farhan Hussein from the University of Tikrit, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Wahid Hassan, and Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Khidr Abtan as supervisor and member.
