The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul held a discussion for the master’s thesis titled:
“The Impact of Budget Deficit and Public Debt on the Economic Growth Rate in Selected Developing Countries for the Period 1995–2023.”
The discussion was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, along with the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs.
The current study, submitted by student Hassan Ramadan Mohammed Al-Sharnkhi from the Department of Economics, aimed to examine the impact of the budget deficit and public debt on the economic growth rate—an important topic in fiscal policy. The study focused on a sample of four countries: Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.
The study concluded with key findings, the most important of which was that the effects of both the budget deficit and public debt on economic growth vary across these countries, depending on how each country manages these financial variables.
The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hussein Batal from the University of Anbar, and included the following members: Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Adeeb Ibrahim.Asst. Prof. Dr. Nizar Sadiq Elias.Asst. Prof. Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan, who also served as the thesis advisor.
