A Sustainable Human-Centered Approach: The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Creates an Inclusive Campus Environment for People with Disabilities and Mothers

As part of its ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive university environment, the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul highlights its initiatives in preparing dedicated facilities for individuals with disabilities and mothers. These efforts are carried out under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, and are aligned with international standards for inclusive academic spaces.
The college has allocated designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, provided accessible entrances, equipped sanitary facilities, and adapted classrooms that cater to various physical, visual, and auditory needs. Additionally, dedicated service areas have been arranged for mothers, reinforcing a sense of belonging and equality within the academic community.
These initiatives fall within the college’s broader commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities). They also directly support Indicator S1 of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking by embedding principles of social justice and equity within the campus environment.
Through these actions, the college reaffirms its dedication to comprehensive sustainability—not only in infrastructure but also in daily academic policies and practices that prioritize human dignity and inclusion.
