“The Impact of Expansionary Fiscal Policy on the Stability of the Local Currency: Empirical Evidence from a Sample of Emerging Market Economies with Special Reference to Iraq,” submitted by the student Muath Saleh Hussein.
The study aimed to provide an analytical description of the extent to which the sample countries adopted expansionary fiscal policy during the study period and to diagnose its implications on the stability of the local currency through two indicators: the rate of change in the exchange rate and the annual inflation rate.
The thesis reached several conclusions, the most notable of which are:
1. The unit root test proved that the panel data of the sample countries is stable.
2. The results showed that the panel data of the sample countries, with the dependent variable (1y_y2), exhibit a cointegration relationship.
The discussion committee consisted of: Prof. Khalaf Mohammed Hamad / University of Tikrit (Chairman), Asst. Prof. Uday Salem Ali (Member), Asst. Prof. Sarraa Salem Dawood (Member) and under the supervision and membership of Asst. Prof. Mohammed Thanoon Mohammed.
