Master’s Thesis Explores Social Media Addiction and Its Impact on Knowledge Workers’ Performance – Department of Management Information Systems / College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul

The Department of Management Information at the College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul, held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (1), a master’s thesis defense for the student Munhel Zuhair Saleh Al-Abdali, entitled: “The Impact of Social Media Addiction on the Performance of Knowledge Workers: A Survey Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Korek Telecom Employees in Iraq.”

The study aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of social media addiction and to analyze its causes and motives, in addition to building a comprehensive knowledge framework that clarifies the fundamental concepts of knowledge workers’ performance.

The findings revealed that social media addiction does not affect all dimensions of knowledge workers’ performance, except for productivity, which was found to be negatively and significantly impacted.
