The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Holds Its Eighth On-Site Meeting in the Department of Business Administration to Strengthen Academic Communication

As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing academic and administrative performance and promoting direct engagement with its academic departments, the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul held its eighth regular session for the 2025–2026 academic year at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the Department of Business Administration, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuheir Mohammed Jameel, Dean of the College. The meeting was attended by the assistant deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of unit and division heads.

The session was held on-site in the Department of Business Administration to allow direct communication with faculty members and students, identify their needs and challenges firsthand, and reinforce the Dean’s approach of fostering academic engagement and open dialogue within the college’s departments. Similar meetings are planned to be held sequentially in the remaining departments.

This meeting followed the fourth session of the University of Mosul Council for the current academic year, which emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to enhance academic and administrative performance in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and to strengthen the university’s academic and educational standing.

The agenda of the College Council included the discussion of several key topics, most notably:

⦿ Accelerating the completion of academic promotion applications for faculty members in accordance with current ministerial regulations, ensuring they receive their academic entitlements.

⦿ Reviewing the academic structure and mechanisms for recognizing academic degrees and specializations to ensure alignment between academic tracks and institutional development needs.

⦿ Emphasizing adherence to modest and professional university attire, reflecting the civilized and respectful image of the University of Mosul.

⦿ Forming a “University Day Follow-Up Committee”, with one faculty representative from each department assigned to select distinguished research works for participation in the event’s activities.

⦿ Reconstituting the Committee for Academic Format and Standards for higher diploma, master’s, and doctoral theses, in accordance with approved scientific research principles.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the council reviewed and discussed the detailed reports and minutes submitted by all academic departments, reaffirming the college administration’s ongoing efforts to advance academic, research, and administrative performance and to achieve an integrated university environment that meets the standards of quality and academic accreditation.
