The Higher Diploma Thesis at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul Reveals the Features of the Reality of Renewable Energy in the University Environment”

The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul,  discussed on Monday, November 17, 2025 the Higher Diploma thesis entitled “Analysis of the Reality of Renewable Energy in the University Environment.” The discussion was held in Discussion Hall No. (1).

The study, submitted by the student Mohammed Moan Mohammed Ahmed, aims to analyze the level of renewable energy use at the University of Mosul in terms of availability, utilization, and feasibility, in addition to measuring the level of awareness among administrative and academic staff regarding the importance of renewable energy and its role in enhancing environmental sustainability. The study also seeks to identify the main technical, administrative, and economic challenges that hinder the adoption of renewable energy projects within the university.

The study reached several conclusions, the most prominent of which is that renewable energy represents a strategic option for achieving environmental and economic sustainability, especially in educational institutions that serve as suitable environments for practical applications. The study further indicates that adopting renewable energy contributes to reducing costs and enhancing resource efficiency within the university.

The discussion committee was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulazeez Bashar Haseeb – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul as a chair of the discussion, and included the membership of Lecturer Dr. Islam Yousif Sheet – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul as a member, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Amal Sarhan Suleiman – College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul as a member and supervisor.
