As part of the conference organized by the University of Mosul under the theme “Educational Institutions and Their Preventive Role in Combating Drug Abuse,” and held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and supervised by the University President, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, the College of Administration and Economics made a remarkable and influential contribution.

The conference was launched on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, with an official opening session that included the national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha, followed by a diverse program featuring speeches, awareness lectures, and a visual presentation on the dangers of drug abuse and methods of prevention, in addition to contributions from representatives of specialized security departments.

The College of Administration and Economics presented a notable participation through 12 awareness posters, which addressed the risks of drug abuse, the effects of psychotropic substances, and the role of educational institutions in limiting their spread—an effort that enriched the cognitive and awareness components of the conference.

The college’s presence was marked by the participation of the Dean, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuheir Mohammed Jameel, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, along with several faculty members, reaffirming the college’s support for national initiatives aimed at protecting students and the community from this harmful phenomenon.
