Cultural Workshop to Enhance Students’ Skills in Literary and Journalistic Tracks at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuheir Mohammed Jameel, the Student Activities Division / Cultural Activities Unit organized a workshop on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, titled:
“Literary Tracks and Journalistic Works in the Creative Arts Competition,” as part of the college’s efforts to support student talents and encourage their active participation in cultural activities.
The workshop highlighted five main tracks included in the competition: Arabic poetry, journalistic articles, investigative reporting, short stories, and public speaking. The presentation offered a detailed explanation of each track, writing techniques, evaluation criteria, and how to prepare a competitive submission.
The workshop aimed to:
Clarify literary and journalistic tracks for students and guide them in preparing creative works.
Develop artistic writing skills and distinguish between articles, investigative reports, and various journalistic formats.
Explain the fundamentals of writing poetry, short stories, and speeches in a professional manner.
Enable students to present distinguished contributions to the Creative Arts Competition.
The workshop topics were presented by:

Mr. Fares Abdullah Hussein,
Asst. Lecturer Nadia Fadhil Ali,
Asst. Lecturer Saja Ismail Ibrahim,
and moderated by Asst. Lecturer Aseel Saadi Hussein.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Zuheir Abdulqader, along with a number of faculty members, staff, and students, whose participation enriched the discussion and added value to the training session.
