Awareness Workshop at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, on Combating Electronic Fraud in Payment Cards

In line with the directives of the Presidency of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, an awareness workshop was held on the morning of Wednesday, November 26, 2025, entitled: “Combating Electronic Fraud Crimes Targeting Electronic Payment Cards”
The workshop took place in the Marketing Management Department hall.
The event was organized through the collaboration between the University Psychological Counseling Department and the National Security Service / University Security Center for Mosul Institutions, in coordination with the Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics. This initiative comes as part of efforts to enhance security and financial awareness among students and faculty members and to protect them from the growing risks of electronic fraud.
The workshop was delivered by a group of specialists from the National Security Service:
Raed Hassan Ahmed Saadou – University Security Officer / University of Mosul and Mosul Institutes
Captain Ali Abdulghani Aoni – Director of the Financial Intelligence Department
Captain Mohammed Zaidan Mohammed – Deputy Director of the Financial Intelligence Department
Captain Omar Noufal Abdulghani – Relations and Media Department
The lectures addressed the most prominent methods of fraud targeting electronic payment cards, how to detect them, and the proper procedures for dealing with electronic incidents. Practical guidelines were also presented to reduce electronic targeting risks faced by users of bank cards within academic institutions.
The workshop witnessed the attendance of several faculty members and students, who interacted with the topics by asking important questions that reflected their interest in enhancing security and financial awareness within the university environment.
This workshop comes as part of the college’s efforts to activate joint awareness programs, support digital security culture, and ensure a safe and sustainable academic environment.
