The XO General Knowledge Competition Strengthens a Culture of Excellence and Creativity Among Students of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul

Under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, the Cultural Activities Unit in the Student Activities Division organized the XO General Knowledge Competition among the college’s departments. The event was held on Monday morning, November 24, 2025, in Laboratory No. (2) at the Department of Management Information Systems, in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and intellectual engagement.
The competition was attended by:
– Asst. Prof. Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs
– Asst. Prof. Dr. Ramadan Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, Head of the Management Information Systems Department
In addition to the judging committees, several faculty members, and students who closely followed the rounds of the competition.
The competition witnessed broad participation from students of the scientific departments, with strong and exciting matches based on a single-elimination system, which added suspense and intensified the challenge among the competing teams.
The results concluded with the Accounting Department and the Industrial Management Department winning the top positions after a series of rounds conducted using the single-elimination and knockout style.
On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the Dean of the College honored the winning teams and the judging committees, in addition to honoring the creator and designer of the XO General Knowledge Program, student Abdulmunem Saleh Hassan, a fourth-year student in the Management Information Systems Department, in appreciation of his creative efforts in developing this student-led initiative.
This event comes as part of a series of academic and cultural activities that the college is keen to organize in support of student innovation, the promotion of positive competition, and the enhancement of an active and engaging university environment.
