The College of Administration and Economics Holds Its Tenth Regular Session and Approves a Package of Decisions Supporting Scientific Research and Academic Development

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held its tenth regular session for the academic year 2025–2026, chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, and attended by the assistant deans, heads of scientific departments, and several unit and division officials. The meeting came as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance academic quality and elevate institutional performance.

At the beginning of the session, the Dean emphasized the importance of strengthening communication with the scientific departments and closely monitoring academic and administrative workflows, as these efforts directly contribute to fulfilling the college’s mission of quality and excellence.

The agenda included discussion of two main points: ▪ Administrative and academic directives issued by the University Council and mechanisms for implementing them in line with current requirements.
▪ Follow-up on the progress of scientific research within research groups and encouraging faculty members to publish in reputable global databases.

As part of supporting scientific research and motivating academic publishing, the Dean—after the approval of the Fund Management Committee—approved granting a financial reward of 250,000 IQD to each research group that publishes in Scopus-indexed Q1 journals, effective November 24, 2025.

The college also decided to publish outstanding research participating in the Day of Science Awards in local journals, fully covering publication fees as a means of supporting researchers and strengthening the college’s academic presence.

Moreover, the Dean instructed the Postgraduate Studies Division and the heads of scientific departments to closely follow up on postgraduate students’ files and ensure that all required documents are completed within the specified deadlines.

At the conclusion of the session, the minutes of the scientific departments were reviewed and their details discussed, reaffirming the college’s commitment to transparency, integrated academic and administrative performance, and sustainable planning that contributes to achieving the university’s goals toward institutional excellence and continuous development.
