Discussion of a Higher Diploma Thesis in the Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul on the Application of Total Environmental Equipment Efficiency Indicators

The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul discussed on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (1), the Higher Diploma thesis titled: “The Extent of Applying Total Environmental Equipment Efficiency (OEEE) Indicators.”

The study, submitted by the student Taha Mohammed Hussein, aimed to clarify the concept of the Total Environmental Equipment Efficiency (OEEE) indicator and its components, analyze the level of its application in Iraqi industrial facilities, and evaluate its role in measuring the environmental and operational performance of equipment. This contributes to guiding operational decisions toward higher efficiency and more sustainable industrial practices.

The study reached several conclusions, most notably the necessity of installing or updating gas treatment systems to reduce sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and particulate matter (PM) emissions. It also emphasized the importance of formally incorporating the OEEE indicator into the decision-making process to guide engineering and operational decisions—not only to enhance operational efficiency (OEE) but also to achieve environmental performance requirements that strengthen the competitiveness of industrial enterprises.

The discussion committee consisted of: Asst. Prof. Dr. Safwan Yaseen Hassan as a chair, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amal Sarhan Suleiman as a member, Asst. Prof. Riyadh Jameel Wahab as a member and Asst. Prof. Dr. Rugheed Ibrahim Ismail as a member and supervisor.
