Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul Organizes a Pioneering Scientific Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Developing Iraqi Industry 

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, the Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled:

“Trends in Artificial Intelligence Applications for Improving the Outputs of Iraqi Industry.”

The workshop was held on the morning of Monday, 15 December 2025, in Hall No. (1) at the College Deanship, with wide participation from academics and specialists, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The workshop aimed to highlight the pivotal role of modern technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—in supporting industrial development pathways, enhancing production efficiency, and raising the competitiveness of the Iraqi industrial sector, in light of the rapid transformations imposed by the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The workshop included the presentation of four specialized scientific papers, addressing artificial intelligence applications in industry from multiple scientific and practical perspectives, as follows:

First Paper:
“From Traditional Manufacturing to Smart Factories: How Companies Transform Artificial Intelligence into a Driver of Innovation and Efficiency”
Presented by: Professor Dr. Maysar Ibrahim Ahmed and Assistant Lecturer Bilal Tawfiq Younis.

Second Paper:
“Integrating Artificial Intelligence with Industrial Management Systems: Toward Optimal Planning and Sustainable Productivity”
Presented by: Assistant Professor Dr. Ragheed Ibrahim Ismail.

Third Paper:
“Automation of Industrial and Accounting Processes Using Artificial Intelligence”
Presented by: Assistant Professor Dr. Kubra Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer Thania Ismail, and Assistant Lecturer Yasmin Bashar.

Fourth Paper:
“Smart Automation: Building the Future of Iraqi Industry”
Presented by: Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Sarhan, Assistant Lecturer Rayan Mohammed Dhiab, and Assistant Lecturer Azal Qasim.

This workshop came in response to the urgent need to keep pace with modern technological developments and to provide an applied vision for mechanisms to employ artificial intelligence tools in the fields of industrial planning, automation, quality control, and data analysis, thereby contributing to achieving a qualitative leap in production efficiency and the quality of industrial outputs.

The event represents an important step toward strengthening integration between academic institutions and the industrial sector, opening new horizons for applied scientific research that addresses the requirements of economic development in Iraq. It also served as an effective platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise among academics, specialists, and those interested in the future of national industry.
