Master’s thesis in the Department of Economics discusses the determinants of currency crises in a number of developing countries for the period 1990-2019.
The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Tuesday 27 December 2022, the master’s thesis tagged “Determinants of currency crises in a number of developing countries for the period 1990-2019”.
The current study presented by the student “Enas Asaad Suleiman” aimed to study and analyze the repercussions of the variables causing the crisis, which was expressed in the arithmetic mean of changes in interest rates in addition to changes in nominal exchange rates in the currency crisis, and the research proceeded from a premise that confirms that the factors of budget deficit, monetary reserves, domestic credit and money supply are the most important factors in pushing towards the formation of currency crises and that the impact of these factors outweighs their impact in the short term Long-term.The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Fakhr Al-Din Ayoub, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Khader Abtan, and Assistant Professor Dr. Fadwa Ali Hussein from the Northern Technical University, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan.
