The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the doctoral thesis tagged “Reducing the Big Six Losses and its Role in Strengthening the Hollon Manufacturing System by Adopting the International Standard for Asset Management (ISO55001: 2014) An Applied Study in the Middle Refineries Company / Dora Refinery”.

The current study submitted by the student “Uday Saadoun Aziz” in the Department of Industrial Management aims to: Assisting the surveyed company by analyzing its reality in accordance with the requirements of the International Asset Management Standards ISO55001: 2014) with the provision of a proposed mechanism for application that includes the tools and processes necessary for its application that would contribute to reducing the six large losses and enhancing the application of the holonic manufacturing system, and then quantifying the six large loss indicators and testing

Levels of correlation and influence relationships between the independent variable (six large losses), the dependent variable (holonic manufacturing system) and the modified variable (International Asset Management Standard ISO55001:2014)).

The study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which were: The existence of the International Standard for Asset Management ISO55001: 2014)) would reduce the impact of the six large losses and thus enhance the performance of the holonian manufacturing system, this result contributes to expanding the search for other factors to understand new results, and the company surveyed suffers from a gap between its reality and the requirements of the International Asset Management Standard by (34%).

The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, Dean of the College, and with the membership of Prof. Dr. Nagham Youssef Abdul Reda from the University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Ali Ismail, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hani Muhammad, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahra Ghazi Dhanoun, and the membership and supervision of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Sattar Al-Hafez.
