The workshop opened by welcoming all attendees and then starting with the first session, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Saja Fathi Mohamed and Prof. Dr. Ashti Abdel Sattar Abdel Ghani as rapporteur of the session
Two lectures were held, the first lecture entitled “The Green Future of Iraq in Light of the Challenges and Components of the Afforestation Process”, which was delivered to the audience by Prof. Dr. Rafia Ibrahim Al-Hamdani – Assoc. Prof. Uday Salem
Then followed by the second lecture by Mr. Fathi Mohamed Suleiman, Assistant Lecturer, entitled “Finance and Environment … Green Financial Concepts”

The workshop aimed to shed light on the concept of afforestation, environmental pollution and the reality of the environment in Iraq due to climate change and the scarcity of rain, as Iraq suffers from many environmental problems in addition to increasing desertification.
A large part of the individual’s responsibility towards society is to preserve the environment and afforestation is the best way in this field because of its effectiveness in reducing air pollution resulting from various factors such as dust, soil, carbon monoxide gas and many others.
