The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The impact of innovation indicators on the digital economy: a study in a group of countries for the period 2010-2022”

This study, presented by the student “Ahmed Rashid Ali Moussa” in the Department of Economics, seeks to: provide a theoretical presentation of innovation and the digital economy and analyze the theoretical relationship between them, and also aims to shed light on innovation and its effects on the digital economy through innovation indicators (spending on research and development, advanced technology exports, number of patents and number of trademarks).

The study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which were: In European countries, R&D spending, total trademark applications and total patent applications had a positive impact on the Global Knowledge Index.

The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohamed Naif Mahmoud, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Yassin Rasoul Younis from Salahaddin University – Erbil, and Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Wajih Mahdi, under the supervision and membership of Prof. Dr. Anmar Amin Al-Barwari.
