The College of Administration and Economics Council held its fourteenth session on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, headed by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, and attended by the Dean’s Assistants for Academic and Administrative Affairs and Heads of Academic Departments.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the College, and then the Council discussed a number of important topics, most notably:

1. Commitment to official working hours:
The Dean of the College directed the Dean’s Assistants and Heads of Academic Departments to adhere to official working hours by faculty and staff, to ensure the regularity of academic and administrative work.

2. Follow-up on the first-semester final exams:
The Dean stressed the importance of full preparation for the first-semester final exams for first-stage students in all academic departments, for morning and evening studies, which are scheduled to start early next week. He also stressed the need to provide all the necessary requirements for the success of the examination process.

3. Institutional Accreditation Requirements:
The Dean stressed the need to complete the institutional accreditation requirements in the college, which contributes to supporting the University of Mosul to obtain institutional accreditation and enhance its academic standing.

4. Programmatic Accreditation:
The Council directed the academic departments that have not yet submitted applications for programmatic accreditation to complete their files and submit their applications for accreditation according to the approved standards.

5. Postgraduate Studies Follow-up:
The Dean directed the heads of academic departments to follow up on graduate students’ lectures and update the scientific curricula for all postgraduate programs, in line with academic and scientific developments.

6. Educational Guidance:
The Dean stressed the importance of following up on the educational guidance committees in the academic departments, which enhances the activity of the Educational and Psychological Guidance Unit in the college and contributes to supporting students and solving their problems, to improve their academic performance.

The Council concluded its session by discussing the most important items on the agenda and taking appropriate decisions and recommendations, which contributes to achieving the goals of the college and supports its academic and administrative progress.
