Security Problems Facing University Students: An Awareness Workshop at the College of Administration and Economics

Under the patronage of the esteemed President of the University of Mosul, Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the esteemed Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, the College’s Department of Business Administration, in cooperation with the Community Police Division in Nineveh Governorate, organized an awareness workshop entitled “Some of the Security Problems Facing University Students.”

The workshop was held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in Discussion Hall (1). The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, the Scientific Assistant, a number of officers and members of the Community Police Directorate, faculty members and students, and a number of security, academic, and community figures.

The workshop opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the College, followed by a speech by Brigadier General Abdullah Hussein Mohammed, Director of Community Police in Nineveh.  Colonel Hazem Najm Abdullah and Captain Reem Shukr Sobhi also presented presentations addressing the most prominent security challenges facing students on campus, most notably cyber-extortion and extremism, and ways to prevent them. They also discussed the mechanism for communicating confidentially with security agencies in the event of a threat.

At the conclusion of the workshop, letters of thanks and appreciation were distributed to the officers, in appreciation of their efforts in supporting the university community, protecting students, and enhancing security on campus.
