The Council of the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul Holds Its Seventh On-Site Session to Strengthen Academic Communication and Institutional Performance Development

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance academic and administrative performance and to foster direct communication with academic departments, the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul held its seventh regular session for the academic year 2025–2026 at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Department of Accounting. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, Dean of the College, and attended by the assistant deans, heads of academic departments, and several division and unit heads.
This on-site session was held within the Department of Accounting to enable direct engagement with faculty members and students, identify their needs and challenges firsthand, and promote academic proximity and open dialogue within the departments. The dean announced that such field meetings would continue in the remaining departments in sequence.
The council discussed several strategic topics and recent academic outcomes, most notably:
– Reviewing the key outcomes of the Higher Education Conference organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the University of Baghdad (2025), in which the Dean represented the University of Mosul. The discussion focused on the Bologna Path system, the degree structure, the ECTS system, learning outcomes, and applied research developments.
– Emphasizing the need for strict monitoring of student absences in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies — from initial warnings and written undertakings to administrative procedures, including dismissal in cases of repeated absence.
– Requesting all academic departments to submit detailed reports on students who have not yet resumed attendance in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
– Stressing the importance of registering undergraduate students through the HEPIQ platform to ensure that the educational process follows approved digital standards.
– Urging department heads to accurately communicate all instructions and directives issued by the College Council to both faculty members and students.
– Emphasizing the importance of following official college news exclusively through its verified Facebook page and official website to ensure information reliability and source authenticity.
– Highlighting the college’s deep commitment to institutional and programmatic accreditation, applied research, and publishing in reputable international journals to strengthen the college’s standing in academic rankings.
– Reviewing the progress of research projects within research groups and encouraging faculty members to publish in high-impact international journals.
– Following the visit of the ministerial committee assigned to grant programmatic accreditation to the Department of Industrial Management, the council emphasized the readiness of other departments for upcoming evaluation visits.
The session concluded with a review and discussion of all departmental reports and their detailed recommendations.
