The Department of Industrial Management Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Empowering Creative Thinking Skills in University Education at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul,
and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuheir Mohammed Jameel, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics,
the Department of Industrial Management organized a scientific workshop titled:
“Empowering Creative Thinking Skills in University Education”,
held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Hall No. (1) at the College’s main building.
The session was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Ali Ismail, with Lecturer Zaid Khalil Ibrahim serving as the session rapporteur.
The workshop program included four specialized scientific papers that addressed various aspects of creativity and university-level thinking, as follows:
First Paper: “Integrating Creative Thinking into Curriculum Design: A Comprehensive Academic Framework”
Presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rughaid Ibrahim Ismail, who discussed methods for developing university curricula to enhance students’ creative thinking skills.
Second Paper: “Developing Creative Skills through the Six Thinking Hats Model”
Presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Amal Sarhan Suleiman, who highlighted the importance of applying the Six Thinking Hats model to foster flexible and innovative thinking among learners.
Third Paper: “Flipped Learning as a Tool for Empowering Creative Thinking in University Classrooms”
Presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Manal Al-Sammak and Asst. Lecturer Bilal Tawfiq Younis, who discussed the role of flipped learning in stimulating creativity and developing students’ intellectual skills.
Fourth Paper: “Employing Artificial Intelligence to Achieve Quality in University Education”
Presented by Asst. Lecturer Rayan Mohammed and Asst. Lecturer Azzel Qusay, who explored the potential of artificial intelligence in supporting educational outcomes and fostering an innovative learning environment.
The workshop witnessed remarkable participation from faculty members and both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It also featured rich discussions and academic interventions that enriched the presented topics.
In conclusion, the participants emphasized the importance of integrating creative thinking into university teaching strategies to keep pace with the evolving academic and knowledge requirements of modern education.
