The Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics Holds a Scientific Seminar on Employer Requirements in the Era of Digital Transformation

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, the Department of Management Information Systems held an extensive scientific seminar on Monday morning, December 1, 2025, titled: “Employer Requirements in the Context of Digital Transformation and Their Impact on Educational Curricula.”
The seminar took place in the department’s PhD hall, with the attendance of a distinguished group of faculty members, students, and graduates.
The seminar aimed to align academic outputs with the needs of the digital labor market by presenting a shared vision between the university environment and the professional sector regarding the skills and knowledge that Management Information Systems graduates should possess amid rapid technological developments.
Employers from Nineveh Health Directorate, Nineveh Education Directorate, and the University of Mosul provided valuable inputs addressing key technologies used within their institutions. They emphasized the necessity of integrating practical applications and modern software tools into university curricula, in addition to developing soft skills such as problem-solving and adaptability to technological change.
The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Hussein, who highlighted existing gaps between academic curricula and practical reality, and stressed the need to update educational content to keep pace with the demands of digital transformation.
For his part, the Head of the Department of Management Information Systems, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ramadan Mahmood Al-Ibraheemi, expressed his gratitude to the guests for their valuable contributions, affirming that the seminar’s recommendations will form the foundation of the department’s plans to develop and modernize the curriculum to ensure the graduation of highly competitive professionals in the labor market.
At the conclusion of the seminar, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants and employers in recognition of their efforts and support for the department’s academic mission.
