About the Department of Economics

The Department of Economics was established in 1966-1967 within the College of Arts, University of Mosul. It began registering students and graduated in 1969-1970 (27) twenty-seven students for one course. In 1969-1970, the Department of Economics, affiliated with Al-Mustansiriya University, was opened and the first batch graduated for the year 1973-1974, then it had been joined to the University of Mosul in 1974-1975, and the Economic Planning Branch was established in 1985-1986.
