About the college
In the year 1968 AD, the College of Administration and Economics was established. It was a private college affiliated with the Iraqi Economists Association/Mosul Branch. It was called the “College of Accounting and Business Administration.” The study was in the evenings and the number of its students was (240) for the academic year 1968-1969. The student spent five academic years in one department, “Accounting and Administration.” Business” was then attached to Al-Mustansiriya University in the same first academic year, after which other departments were opened, such as the Economics Department, in the following year. In 1974, the college was attached to the University of Mosul after disengaging from Al-Mustansiriya University.
The college focused on the quality of its outputs as a contribution to meeting the needs of the labor market and the needs and requirements of national development, which prompted it to open other scientific departments specializing in management and economics. Now the college includes seven scientific departments: business administration, accounting, economics, management information systems, financial and banking sciences, and industrial management. Finally, marketing came in The beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year to keep pace with business and marketing developments and the spread of electronic marketing. Giving the character of electronic business had the greatest impact on the necessity of following up and developing scientific and practical capabilities in all specializations.
In the scientific specializations in the college in general, studies were introduced for a higher level of primary university degrees – the bachelor’s – so the college departments opened their doors to study the higher diploma, master’s and doctorate, in addition to research, consultations, training, studies, continuing education and community service.
The college has effective participation in the Investment Authority, governorate departments, the Chamber of Commerce, and public and private sector institutions within the borders of Nineveh Governorate and beyond.
