The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul Holds Workshop on “Entrepreneurship in Agricultural Projects”.

As part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week organized by the University of Mosul, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research held a workshop on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, titled:
“Entrepreneurship in Agricultural Projects.”
The workshop lectures were delivered by:Lecturer Abbas Ali Ahmed, Assistant Lecturer Nawaf Jassim Muhammad Assistant Lecturer Ammar Habib Mahmoud.
The workshop aimed to transform traditional agriculture into an innovative, sustainable, and profitable sector through the application of modern techniques and advanced management methods. This contributes to enhancing food security, reducing dependence on imports, creating job opportunities for youth and women, and supporting sustainable rural development while protecting the environment.
The workshop also focused on fostering innovation and agricultural productivity, improving product quality, ensuring stable food supplies, reducing reliance on food imports, and creating sustainable employment opportunities in rural areas.
This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:Goal 4 (Quality Education): By developing researchers’ skills and enhancing the efficiency of scientific and technical training.Goal 2 (Zero Hunger): By supporting agricultural practices and research that contribute to improved agricultural productivity and food security.Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): By strengthening research capacities that support the growth of the agricultural sector and create sustainable jobs.Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): By promoting scientific collaboration between research centers and agricultural sectors.
The workshop reflects the center’s leading role in serving the community, developing the agricultural sector, and supporting sustainable development.
