On February 11, 2026, the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul received the Director of the Research and Development Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Lubna Khamees Mahdi Al-Rubai, accompanied by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamid . They were welcomed by the Director of the Center, Professor Dr. Mohammed Subhi Mustafa Al-Taweel.

  The visit included a tour of the center’s facilities, laboratories, and research units, where the guests were briefed on the scientific and research activities carried out by the center, as well as ongoing applied research projects in the fields of dryland and conservation agriculture aimed at serving the agricultural sector in the province.

  During the visit, emphasis was placed on the importance of supporting specialized research centers and strengthening their capabilities in order to promote sustainable agricultural development and serve the community.

  This visit also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), which focuses on enhancing food security and promoting sustainable agriculture; Goal 13 (Climate Action); and Goal 15 (Life on Land), through supporting agricultural research that contributes to conserving natural resources and improving land productivity in arid and semi-arid regions.
