The Center for Arid and Conservation Agriculture Research accompanies the wheat harvest season in Tal Afar as part of its research programs .

As part of implementing the current agricultural season’s research plan, a team from the Center for Arid and Conservation Agriculture Research at the University of Mosul conducted a field visit to farmers’ fields in Tal Afar District on Thursday, June 4, 2026, to monitor and carry out the harvesting of experiments and studies included in the center’s plan for the current year.
The visit included harvesting operations and the collection of field data related to the implemented experiments, in addition to evaluating the performance of varieties and agricultural techniques applied under the prevailing environmental conditions in the region. Preliminary results were also documented, and productivity indicators were monitored, contributing to the support and development of agricultural research aimed at improving production efficiency and rationalizing resource use.
The research team emphasized that these field visits are part of a continuous monitoring approach for research activities and ensuring the accuracy of obtained results. This contributes to providing scientific recommendations that help farmers adopt best agricultural practices and achieve sustainable development goals, particularly:
