Utilizing Smart Technology in Agricultural Sector… A Green Revolution Leading the Future of Food Security.

On Monday, June 29, 2026, AFCAR Center organized a workshop titled ” Utilizing Smart Technology in Agricultural Sector” delivered by the Research Follow Nada Younis Taher (a researcher at the center). During the workshop, she addressed the major transformations currently taking place in agriculture thanks to technological advancements, whereby Smart Technology has become one of the most important means of increasing production and improving crop quality while reducing the consumption of natural resources.

This modern technologies such as sensors, drones, GPS systems, artificial intelligence, and data analysis to monitor crops and manage agricultural operations with precision. These technologies provide farmers with accurate information regarding soil conditions, moisture levels, and the water and fertilizer needs of plants, thereby enabling more efficient decision-making and reducing waste. They also assist in the early detection of pests and plant diseases, which limits losses and enhances overall productivity.

The lectures delivered during this workshop align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), Goal 15 (Life on Land), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
