The center for Arid Farming and conservation Agricultur’s Researches at the University of Mosul is conducting intensive disease and insect control on cotton and sesame crops.

   In the framework of following up on research activities implemented for summer crops, the staff of the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s at the University of Mosul today, October 1, 2025, initiated intensive control measures for diseases and insects diagnosed in cotton and sesame crops. This proactive step aims to protect the vital research experiments implemented in the center’s greenhouses, which are considered a basis for developing sustainable agriculture in the region.

  These measures aim to protect cotton and sesame crops, which represent an essential part of the ongoing research at the center. This research aims to develop innovative agricultural methods resistant to difficult environmental conditions, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, directly contributing to Goal 2: Zero Hunger, and Goal 13: Climate Action.
