An expanded meeting was held today, February 2, 2026, involving the research, technical, and administrative staff of the AFCAR Center to discuss projects that could be included and implemented through the Consultancy Office. The office was recently inaugurated after obtaining official approvals from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the endorsement of the Presidency of the University of Mosul, within the framework of supporting agricultural and research sectors.

  The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Center ( Chairman of the Consultancy Office’s Board of Directors ) , Professor Dr. Mohamed Subhi Mustafa, and ( the Director of the Consultancy Office ) , Professor Dr. Salem Hamadi Antar. A number of agricultural projects were proposed that would serve the university, the community, and the agricultural sector, with the possibility of studying and implementing them in the future according to well-considered plans that contribute to achieving scientific and economic feasibility.

  The establishment of the consulting office for the Conservation Agriculture Center comes the context of enhancing the university’s role in community service and supporting agricultural development, in alignment with a number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), notably:

Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.

Goal 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work through agricultural and investment projects.

Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Goal 15: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.
