2026, with the aim of carrying out field observations of wheat fields and collecting crop-related measurements as part of the Center’s agricultural monitoring and research programs.

The visit included assessing the growth status of wheat crops in several agricultural fields, in addition to conducting field examinations and measurements related to plant density, growth stages, and the overall condition of the crop. These activities contribute to evaluating agricultural performance and identifying constraints that may affect productivity.

The visit also included meetings with a number of farmers in the region to discuss the major challenges they face, while emphasizing the continuation of research and extension cooperation in support of the agricultural sector and the achievement of food security.

The field visit aimed to monitor the field conditions of wheat crops in Tal Afar District and to conduct the necessary observations and field measurements required to evaluate crop growth and its response to environmental and agricultural conditions. Furthermore, the visit sought to collect scientific data that contribute to supporting agricultural studies and research and to provide technical recommendations aimed at improving productivity.

This visit aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

SDG 2: Zero Hunger

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

SDG 13: Climate Action

SDG 15: Life on Land
