Bologna Process: A New Path Toward Quality and Innovation in Iraqi Higher Education.

The Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research participated in a scientific lecture held at the University of Mosul on Sunday, 27 September 2026. The Center was represented by Assistant Lecturer Nada Younis Taher, who attended a lecture delivered by Turkish Professor Dr. Burak Arikan entitled “The Bologna Process in Iraqi Higher Education: Current Implementation, Challenges, and Future Development Prospects.” The lecture was held at Mahmoud Al-Jalili Hall, University of Mosul.
The lecture addressed several key aspects of the Bologna Process and its importance in developing higher education systems. It also reviewed the current status of its implementation in Iraqi higher education institutions, highlighted the major challenges affecting its application, and discussed future prospects and approaches for further development to enhance the quality of education and improve its outcomes.
The participation of the Center’s representative reflects the Center for Arid Farming and Conservation Agriculture Research’s commitment to engaging in scientific and academic activities and keeping abreast of recent developments and modern experiences in higher education and scientific research. Such participation contributes to strengthening academic communication and facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge among academic and research institutions.
This participation is aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
