A master’s thesis in the College of Archaeology discussing (the effect of marble inscriptions on highlighting the architectural elements of the role of Mosul (1863 AD -1954 AD) – an applied study)

On Thursday, April 6, 2023, the Department of Archaeology at the College of Archaeology at the University of Mosul discussed in the master’s thesis entitled “The Impact of Marble Inscriptions in Highlighting the Architectural Elements of the Role of Mosul (1863 AD-1954 AD) – An Applied Study”. The viva was held at the hall of Dr. Behnam Abu Al-Souf. Part of the viva was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber Khalil, Asst. Dean of the College for Scientific Affairs and Assistant Professor Dr. Moaz Habash Khader/ Head of the Department of Ancient Iraqi Languages and a number of college staff and postgraduate students.

The thesis presented by the student Shahd Saad Salem dealt with the effect of marble inscriptions in highlighting the architectural elements of the role of Mosul (1863 AD-1954 AD)

The study dealt with clarifying the ability of the Mosuli engraver to highlight the architectural elements by implementing inscriptions on them.

The study aims to pave the way for the historical rooting of the role from ancient times through the Islamic eras to the heritage role.

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Khalaf/ Samarra University/ College of Arts / Department of Archaeology with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdul Kareem Muhammad Ali/ Dean of the College of Archaeology and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Khader Mahmoud, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Vian Mowaffaq Rashid
