GoalsVision:Considering the civilizational importance that Iraq has among world civilizations and out of interest in the civilizational heritage of the country, the Faculty of Archeology at the University of Mosul seeks to build specialized human cadres in the field of archeology, civilization and ancient Iraqi languages ​​(Sumerian and Akkadian) and the advancement of the reality of archaeological studies depending on modern technologies, and upgrading and making the College of Archeology among the leading academic centers in Iraq, the Arab world and the world, expanding the base of the beneficiaries of this college and its outputs through setting up development courses, and actively participating in international workshops to keep pace with the global development in the field of Archeology with all its specialties.Mission:Defining the pioneering role of the ancient ruins and civilization of Iraq, and striving to highlight the impact of the civilization of Iraq on the civilizations of the ancient world, and promoting scientific studies and research that deal with the heritage and civilization of the Sumer and Babylon countries and assured Assyria, and drawing the attention of Iraqi society to the importance of archaeological studies and all their specialties (antiquities, cuneiform writings, civilization) in Iraq.Goals:1- Preparing scientific cadres specialized in the fields of archeology, its cultural heritage, Sumerian and Akkadian writings and jurisprudence of ancient languages, as well as preparing cadres specialized in museum science and management.2- Providing departments and inspections of the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage, as well as archeology departments in Iraqi universities and the General Authority for Tourism, with specialists in the field of archaeological studies, museum and Assyrian sciences.3- Contributing to scientific consultations between the College of Archeology and the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage in the field of archaeological investigations and excavations, as well as in research and scientific publishing.4- Determining the channels of scientific communication with the rest of the majors, departments and state institutions, and emphasizing the importance of establishing twinning programs with international universities and specialized institutes in the field of archeology and cuneiform studies.
