A master’s thesis at the College of Archeology discussing (the plan of the Mosul Museum, its holdings, and methods of treatment)
On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the hall of Dr. Behnam Abu Al-Sof in the college, the Department of Archeology at the College of Archeology at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis entitled (The plan of the Mosul Museum, its collections, and methods of treatment). Part of it was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Ma’amari, Director of Dar Al-Ma’moun in Baghdad, and a number of college professors and students.
The study presented by the researcher (Ahmed Amer Khattab) dealt with the Cultural Museum in Mosul from its inception to the present time and the stages it went through, starting with the selection of the site, planning and construction stages, all the way to the events it went through and the destruction it was subjected to and attempts to restore and rehabilitate it, documenting the holdings and studying the correspondence. The administrative orders related to the museum, through which the letter derived new information, are published for the first time and highlighted.
The discussion committee was chaired by Emeritus professor Dr. Nawala Ahmed Mahmoud and the membership of Professor Dr. Kazem Abdullah Attiya / University of Baghdad / College of Education for Girls / Department of History and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Khader Mahmoud and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdel Karim Muhammad Ali / Dean of the College of Archaeology / Mosul.
