A workshop entitled (Pioneers of numismatics in Iraq)

The College of Archeology, University of Mosul/ Continuing Education Unit and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Archeology/ Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdel Karim Muhammad Ali held a workshop entitled (Pioneers of Numismatics in Iraq) which was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Abeer Ahmed Jassim on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the hall of Dr. Behnam Abu Al-Souf in the college and it was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber Khalil/ Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and a number of college staff, employees, and students.

The workshop tackled the fact that numismatics is one of the important archaeological sciences which is considered one of the most reliable official documents, witnesses, and evidence of historical eras and eras. Many historical studies have emerged that see the need for historical academic institutions to pay great attention to the science of numismatics and money and their importance, due to their close relationship with archaeology and history, despite the importance of this science Arab works in this field in the modern era did not appear until the middle of the twentieth century. As for specialized Arab studies, they did not appear until after that. The works of these researchers were considered the first beginnings that opened a wide field for diligence and greater depth. Iraq has A group of archaeological researchers who contributed to providing the Iraqi and Arab library with many valuable and important books and studies in this field.
