Participation of two teaching from the College of Archeology within the University of Mosul delegation in the activities of the International Week for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage

Within the delegation of the University of Mosul in the activities of the International Week for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage in cooperation with the German University of Brandenburg and Jordanian and Lebanese universities:

To support, conserve and sustain the cultural heritage of the city of Mosul and the openness to scientific cooperation with international universities and within the joint projects organized by the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations – the German Corner Unit and under the follow-up of the Dean of the College of Archeology, Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdel Karim Muhammad Ali,
The Participation of Assistant Lecturer Omar Qasim Khalil and Lecturer Wissal Faisal Hammadi, both are teaching staff at the College of Archeology at the University of Mosul
From Monday, November 7, 2023, until November 13, 2023, in the activities of the Jordanian-German Week for Digitizing Cultural Heritage at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, this is a joint project between the University of Mosul and the German Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, with the participation of Jordanian and Lebanese universities where the academic staff and postgraduate students participated. On the sidelines of the Cultural Heritage Digitization Week, lectures and seminars were given by the trainees and supervising teachers, after which the outputs of the digitization of the Al-Baroud Khana building in the city of Mosul were presented using photogrammetry and virtual reality technology.
The week’s participants also conducted field visits to heritage and archaeological sites in Jordan as a practical application of using modern documentation techniques and their digitization.
