The College of Archaeology holds a symposium on the originality of the Arabic language

Under the patronage of President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Archaeology, Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdul Karim Muhammad Ali, and on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, the College of Archaeology / University of Mosul held a scientific symposium entitled (The Originality of the Arabic Language) on Tuesday, January 24, 2024 in Dr. Bahnam Abu Al-Suf Hall
The symposium aimed to show the aspects of originality of the Arabic language through verbal, morphological and idiomatic comparisons and in the aspect of making linguistic dictionaries between it and the ancient Iraqi languages ​​(Sumerian and its dialects and Akkadian and its dialects), as specialists in ancient Iraqi languages ​​find that the Arabic language is present with its words, morphological derivations and idiomatic meanings in cuneiform texts written thousands of years ago, which indicates the authenticity of the Arabic language and its possession of the qualities of antiquity, stability and sublimity, and this is what the participating researches clarified its aspects: 1- (The compatibility of meanings and words between the Arabic language and the ancient Iraqi languages) By Professor Dr. Othman Ghanem Muhammad; 2- (The past tense of the verb (iprus) and the present tense of the verb (yaf`al) a comparative study) by Professor Dr. Amin Abdel Nafi` Amin; 3- (Integration of the Arabic and Akkadian linguistic dictionaries) by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Maysar Fadel.
