Baghdad The Arab Capital of Tourism in a Scientific Symposium

The Continuing Education Center at the University of Mosul Presidency held a scientific symposium on the city of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Colleges of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Tourism Sciences, entitled “Baghdad: The Cradle of Civilization and the Memory of Heritage.” Part of the symposium was attended by Dr. Rafel Hassan Hamid, Assistant President for Administrative and Financial Affairs. The symposium, held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, was held in the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall, on the occasion of Baghdad being designated the Arab Tourism Capital. The symposium was attended by Dr. Yasser Jaber, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, representing the Dean of the College of Archaeology. A number of research papers were presented, focusing on highlighting the cultural role of the capital, Baghdad. Assistant Professor Dr. Vian Muwaffaq participated with a research paper entitled “The Importance of Heritage Roles in Promoting Archaeological Tourism in the City of Baghdad.” An art exhibition featuring paintings and photographs was held on the sidelines of the symposium.
