Diseases, Their Causes, and Treatment Methods Among the Ancient Egyptians: A Comparative Study with Mesopotamia in a Master’s Thesis

A master’s thesis entitled: “Diseases, Their Causes, and Treatment Methods Among the Ancient Egyptians: A Comparative Study with Mesopotamia” was examined at the Department of Civilization on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025, in Dr. Bahnam Abu Al-Suf Hall. The thesis addressed ancient medical practices in the civilizations of Egypt and ancient Iraq in the field of medicine and healing. It also mentioned the primary sources of our information about medicine, the types of doctors, and the types of diseases in both civilizations, as well as the commonalities in viewing disease and its causes, including religious and natural factors, and the treatment methods adopted by ancient Egyptian and Iraqi doctors.
