On Monday, 10 a.m. Department of Iraqi Ancient Languages held a scientific seminar entitled “An aspect of connection between Sumerian language and Arabic”. The seminar was delivered by Asst. Professor Othman Ghanim. He tackled the aspect of connection between the two language especially the formal one supported by spoken dialects in Iraq from north to south -the homeland of Sumerian civilization”. The seminar also tackled the similarities and the comparison as far as concern the inherited vocabularies and the morpheme that comes within the definition and parsing the verbs in order to know the meaning as well as the grammatical role. The idea contain many questions and complexities and what makes it more complicated that there is a big gap between historically but the connection is that both languages are were communicated by the same people who lived on the same ground. Another connection which can be considered as a bridge is the Akkadian language that was in synchronization and was used and can be considered as a sister to Arabic language from the same family language.
