Master’s thesis at the College of Archaeology discussing (Architecture in ancient Iraq)

On Sunday, June 25, 2023, in the hall of Dr. Behnam Abu Al-Souf in the college, the Department of Archaeology at the College of Archaeology at the University of Mosul discussed the master’s thesis titled (Architecture in Ancient Iraq), part of which was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Jaber Khalil, Assistant Dean of the College for Scientific Affairs, and a number of college professors and students. He is interested in this topic. The study presented by the researcher (Rafal Muhammad Khalil Mahmoud) dealt with the personality of the ancient Iraqi architect, as he was the main innovator of architecture, which was considered one of the first professions of ancient Iraqi man, based on his urgent need to find a shelter that would protect him from the dangers surrounding him. The study mentioned each of the building materials that the architect invented and developed, and studied the advantages and disadvantages of each material, using each of them in his place, in addition to his tools that were his right hand that helped him in shaping the building. The study aims to shed light on the architect as a member of the ancient Iraqi professional community, in addition to the rights and duties he enjoys.

The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmine Abdel Karim Muhammad Ali, Dean of the College of Archeology, University of Mosul, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Fayez Hadi Ali / University of Baghdad / College of Arts / Department of Archeology and the teacher Dr. Rami Abdel Hakim Qasim / and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Heba Hazem Muhammad.
