A seminar on Sumerian Signs in Sumerian- Akkadian dictionaries
On Monday – 28/2/2022, department of Iraqi Ancient Languages held a seminar entitled “Sumerian Signs in Sumerian- Akkadian dictionaries”. The seminar was delivered by the PhD student/ Asst. Prof. Ahmed Muisar Fadhil in cooperation with the experienced Prof. Dr. Ali Yasin Al-jibori. The seminar is extracted from a previous paper by Prof. Dr. Ali Yasin Al-Jibori entitled “types of cuneiform signs in Sumerian-Akkadian dictionaries”.
The suggested paper tackled in brief the kinds of cuneiform signs in in Sumerian- Akkadian dictionaries via introducing them for each one besides their origin. In addition, to describe their shapes and writing structure in details by using the technical related terms based on the detailed descriptions that has been provided by ancient Sumerian- Akkadian lists and texts like the repeated signs as well as compound and complex ones, curved, incomplete, upside down, consecutive or attached.
