1.College in brief
The College of Arts was one of the first colleges to be opened at the University of Mosul. It was opened officially in 1966. The aim of its opening was to achieve the objectives of higher education by preparing students to be researchers and specialists in the humanities. The college is composed of ten departments, i.e., the Department of Arabic Language and its Literature, the Department of English Language and its Literature, the Department of Translation, the Department of French Language, the Department of Turkish, the Department of History, the Department of Libraries and Information, the Department of Media, the Department of Sociology, and the Department of Philosophy.
